RESOLUTION
Commending
and recognizing Ms. Jane Stegall for her commitment to education; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Ms. Jane Stegall had an exemplary career in education that spanned 34 years;
and
WHEREAS,
she began her career as a teacher at Briarlake Elementary School in DeKalb
County; and
WHEREAS,
she continued her career at Columbia High School where she taught for ten years
and served as a varsity basketball coach and volleyball coach; and
WHEREAS,
she transferred to Shiloh High School in Gwinnett County, where she taught and
served as the varsity basketball and softball coach; and
WHEREAS,
Ms. Stegall was the first female to serve as head coach in Gwinnett County;
and
WHEREAS,
she completed her career in Gwinnett County by serving as associate principal
and principal at Brookwood High School where she remained for seven years;
and
WHEREAS,
Ms. Stegall was twice named "High Performing Principal"; and
WHEREAS,
Ms. Stegall retired on May 23, 2007.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body recognize Ms. Jane Stegall for her exemplary career as an educator and
commend her for her commitment to education and the contributions she has made
to her community and our state.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Ms. Jane Stegall.
