RESOLUTION
Congratulating
the Lovett High School Girls Cross Country Team on winning the 2007 Class AA
State Championship; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
on November 10, 2007, with the support of their families, peers, and the
community, the Lovett High School Girls Cross Country Team seized the Class AA
State Championship in the Georgia High School Association State Championship in
Carrollton, Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
the Lovett High School Girls Cross Country Team reached the championship under
the leadership of Head Coach Jimmy Jewell; Assistant Coaches Ed Billingslea, Ken
Rau, and Coleen Bailey; and through the efforts of the following athletes: Blair
Beskin, Kathleen Block, Ellie Boydston, Aubry Clayton, Ashley Dalton, Wils
Davis, Liz DeAngelo, Celine Heckel-Jones, Alexandra Horst, Caitlin Murphy,
Elizabeth Rucker, Addie Schoen, and Sara Brook Williams; and
WHEREAS,
the Lovett High School Girls Cross Country Team exemplified the virtues of
sportsmanship and community spirit, playing alongside their neighbors and fellow
teammates.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that this body
recognizes and commends the 2007 Class AA State Championship Lovett High School
Girls Cross Country Team, Head Coach Jimmy Jewell, and Assistant Coaches Ed
Billingslea, Ken Rau, and Coleen Bailey for their outstanding
performance.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Head Coach
Jimmy Jewell.
