BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend Code Section 15-12-7 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating
to compensation of court bailiffs and expense allowance for jurors to be fixed
by grand jury and increases, so as to increase the minimum and maximum allowable
per diem compensation for bailiffs; to provide an effective date; to repeal
conflicting laws; and for other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
Code
Section 15-12-7 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to
compensation of court bailiffs and expense allowance for jurors to be fixed by
grand jury and increases, is amended by revising paragraph (1) of subsection (a)
as follows:
"(1)
The compensation of court bailiffs in the superior courts of such counties for
the next succeeding year, such compensation not to be less than
$5.00
$25.00
nor to exceed
$70.00
$85.00
per diem. The same compensation shall be allowed to bailiffs of the several
state courts and special courts as is allowed bailiffs in the superior court of
the county in which the state or special court is located;"
SECTION
2.
This
Act shall become effective upon its approval by the Governor or upon its
becoming law without such approval.
SECTION
3.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
