BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend an Act establishing a new charter for the City of Nicholls, approved
August 16, 1920 (Ga. L. 1920, p. 1329), as amended, so as to
provide that city elections shall be conducted pursuant to the Georgia Election
Code; to provide that all municipal elections for the city shall be conducted by
the Coffee County Board of Elections and Registration; to provide for related
matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
An
Act establishing a new charter for the City of Nicholls, approved August 16,
1920 (Ga. L. 1920, p. 1329), as amended, is amended by adding a
new section to read as follows:
"Section
9A.
(a)
Notwithstanding any provision of this charter to the contrary, all elections
shall be held and conducted in accordance with Chapter 2 of Title 21 of the
O.C.G.A., the 'Georgia Election Code.'
(b)
Notwithstanding any provision of this charter to the contrary, the governing
authority of the city shall contract with the Coffee County Board of Elections
and Registration for the conducting of all municipal
elections."
SECTION
2.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
