A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT


To provide that certain officials of Greene County who have served at least 15 years in office may, upon leaving, continue to participate in the county health insurance program for themselves and their dependents by paying the total cost of such participation; to provide for related maters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:

SECTION 1.
Members of the Board of Commissioners of Greene County; the Clerk of the Superior Court of Greene County; the Judge of the Probate Court of Greene County; the Sheriff of Greene County; the Tax Receiver, Tax Collector, and Tax Commissioner of Greene County; the Coroner of Greene County; the Chief Magistrate of Greene County; and all full-time officers and employees of Greene County shall be entitled after leaving office to continue to participate in and be covered by the health insurance plan provided by the county for county officers and employees, provided that such officer or employee must have served at least 15 consecutive years in such office or employment and provided, further, that he or she pays the total costs of such participation including both the employee and employer premiums associated with such participation. The provisions of this Act shall apply only to full-time officials and employees and shall attach regardless of the reason for separation from service.

SECTION 2.
All laws and part of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
