BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend Article 2 of Chapter 74 of Title 36 of the Official Code of Georgia
Annotated, relating to code enforcement boards created after January 1, 2003, so
as to provide that owners of certain non-homestead residential property shall
designate an agent with the governing authority of the county or municipality in
which such property is located; to provide for related matters; to repeal
conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
Article
2 of Chapter 74 of Title 36 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating
to code enforcement boards created after January 1, 2003, is amended by revising
Code Section 36-74-30, relating to other enforcement methods for code
enforcement boards, by adding a new subsection to read as follows:
"(c)
Owners of residential property, other than property subject to a valid, current
homestead exemption, shall designate as an agent with the governing authority of
the municipality or county in which such property is located a natural person
who resides within such municipality or county. Such designation shall include
and be updated to reflect current contact information for such
agent."
SECTION
2.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
