A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT


To amend an Act changing the manner and method of choosing members of the board of education of Walton County, approved April 4, 1968 (Ga. L. 1968, p. 2974), as amended, so as to change the method of compensation of members of the board; to provide for related matters; to provide for an effective date; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:

SECTION 1.
An Act changing the manner and method of choosing members of the board of education of Walton County, approved April 4, 1968 (Ga. L. 1968, p. 2974), as amended, is amended by striking the last sentence of Section 3 and inserting in lieu thereof the following:
"Members of the board of education of Walton County shall receive a monthly salary equal to 10 percent of the monthly salary for a Georgia teacher with 0 years of service, salary step E, and a T-4 certificate as set forth in the Walton County Salary Schedule for Georgia Educators in effect on January 1, 2008. Additionally, each member of the board may be reimbursed for expenses necessarily incurred while meeting or traveling in or outside the state on official business authorized by the board, in compliance with the Georgia Statewide Travel Regulations."

SECTION 2.
This Act shall become effective on the first day of the month following the month in which it is approved by the Governor or in which it becomes law without such approval.

SECTION 3.
All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
