A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT


To amend Code Section 2-13-8 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to labeling requirements for commercial feeds, so as to exclude equine feeds from those feeds for which collective terms of ingredients may be used or which may be exempted from certain requirements; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:

SECTION 1.
Code Section 2-13-8 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to labeling requirements for commercial feeds, is amended by revising paragraph (4) of subsection (a) as follows:
"(4) The common or usual name of each ingredient used in the manufacture of the commercial feed, listed in descending order of predominance by weight; provided that, however, that for any commercial feed other than equine feed, the Commissioner, by regulation, may permit the use of a collective term for a group of ingredients which performs a similar function; or he may or exempt such commercial feeds, or any group thereof from this requirement of an ingredient statement if he the Commissioner finds that such statement is not required in the interest of consumers;"

SECTION 2.
All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
