BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend Chapter 2 of Title 32 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating
to the Department of Transportation, so as to require the commissioner to file
reports on the amount of funds expended on public transit projects and the
progress of such projects; to provide for related matters; to provide for an
effective date; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
Chapter
2 of Title 32 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to the
Department of Transportation, is amended by adding a new Code section to read as
follows:
"32-2-41.1.
Beginning
on December 31, 2008, and annually thereafter, the commissioner shall prepare a
report for the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, the Speaker of the House of
Representatives, and the chairpersons of the Senate Transportation Committee and
House Committee on Transportation detailing the amount of funds expended on
public transit projects and the progress of such projects."
SECTION
2.
This
Act shall become effective upon its approval by the Governor or upon its
becoming law without such approval.
SECTION
3.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
