A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT


To amend Part 2 of Article 6 of Chapter 2 of Title 20 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to competencies and core curriculum for quality basic education, so as to require a minimum amount of grade-appropriate instruction for all students during each school year for the study of natural resource conservation measures; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:

SECTION 1.
Part 2 of Article 6 of Chapter 2 of Title 20 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to competencies and core curriculum for quality basic education, is amended by adding a new Code section to read as follows:
"20-2-149.
Each local board of education shall prescribe not less than a single half-hour of class time for grade-appropriate instruction for all students during each school year for the study of natural resource conservation measures, particularly with regard to, but not limited to, water resources."

SECTION 2.
All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
