BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend an Act changing the compensation of the clerk of the superior court, the
sheriff, and the judge of the Probate Court of Cobb County from the fee system
to the salary system, approved February 9, 1949 (Ga. L. 1949, p. 427), as
amended, particularly by an Act approved May 29, 2007 (Ga. L. 2007, p. 4154), so
as to change the compensation of the judge and the clerk of the probate court;
to provide an effective date; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other
purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
An
Act changing the compensation of the clerk of the superior court, the sheriff,
and the judge of the Probate Court of Cobb County from the fee system to the
salary system, approved February 9, 1949 (Ga. L. 1949, p. 427), as amended,
particularly by an Act approved May 29, 2007 (Ga. L. 2007, p. 4154), is amended
by revising Section 2A as follows:
"SECTION
2A.
The
judge of the Probate Court of Cobb County shall receive an annual salary of
$117,096.61, to be paid in equal monthly installments from the funds of Cobb
County."
SECTION
2.
Said
Act is further amended by revising the second sentence of Section 3 as
follows:
"The
clerk of the probate court shall be compensated in the amount of $80,975.49 per
annum, payable in equal monthly installments from the funds of Cobb
County."
SECTION
3.
This
Act shall become effective upon its approval by the Governor or upon its
becoming law without such approval.
SECTION
4.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
