A RESOLUTION

Commending Millard Bowen; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Millard Bowen is the recipient of the first Matt Moore Heart for Honduras Award given by Honduras Outreach, Inc., for his many contributions to the people of Honduras; and

WHEREAS, Honduras Outreach, Inc., is a Christian-based nondenominational mission dedicated to building life-changing relationships between the citizens of the Olancho Province of Honduras and the North Americans who travel there; and

WHEREAS, Honduras Outreach, Inc., arranges for groups of volunteers from the United States to travel to Rancho el Paraiso, the organizatiońs ranch in Honduras, where they work side-by-side with Hondurans in the area on such community projects as replacing dirt floors with concrete, installing chimneys, and establishing and operating schools and medical clinics; and

WHEREAS, since 1995, Millard Bowen has lent his considerable construction expertise and capabilities to the outreach projects, and his crews have worked on virtually every building on the ranch and many in nearby villages, while teaching Hondurans skills by including them as members of the crew and demonstrating various construction skills; and

WHEREAS, the effect of Mr. Bowen on the effectiveness Honduras Outreach, Inc., is incalculable, and for that reason he was chosen to receive the first annual Matt Moore Heart for Honduras Award.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend Millard Bowen for his many contributions to the people of Honduras and wish him continued success in the future.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Millard Bowen.
