A
RESOLUTION
Expressing
regret at the passing of Tyler Hall Brown; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
on September 14, 2004, the State of Georgia lost one of its finest and most
distinguished citizens with the passing of Army 1st Lt. Tyler Hall Brown in
combat in Iraq while serving with the 2nd Infantry Division; and
WHEREAS,
Tyler Hall Brown has been recognized for his outstanding leadership and his deep
personal commitment to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia and this nation;
and
WHEREAS,
he diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of his time,
talents, and energy toward the betterment of his state and nation as evidenced
dramatically by his superlative public service as an officer in the United
States Army, as the Class of 2001 student body president at the Georgia
Institute of Technology, and as the senior class president at Woodward Academy;
and
WHEREAS,
his significant organizational and leadership talents, his remarkable patience
and diplomacy, his keen sense of vision, and his sensitivity to the needs of the
citizens of his state and nation earned him the respect and admiration of his
colleagues and associates; and
WHEREAS,
he was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for
integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and
WHEREAS,
the passing of this generous, kind, and devoted young man leaves an unfillable
void in the hearts and lives of his family and friends.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body express
their deepest and most sincere regret at the passing of Tyler Hall Brown and
commend him for his efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated service to
the citizens of this state and the United
States. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the
Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate
copy of this resolution to the family of Tyler Hall Brown.
