A
RESOLUTION
Honoring
and commending the life and service of Spec. First Class Lee Thomas Huddleston;
and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Spec. First Class Lee Thomas Huddleston was born on November 25, 1981, in
Evanston, Wyoming, to Ramona and Tom Huddleston; and
WHEREAS,
he enlisted in the U.S. Army in 2000 and served in Iraq for one year through
June 2004, stationed near Baghdad in a facility that has now been demolished by
insurgents; during his tenure in Iraq, he worked 18-hour days as a service
vehicle mechanic and head driver for a Lieutenant Major and was also pressed
into service as a medic; and
WHEREAS,
among other honors, Spec. First Class Lee Thomas Huddleston was awarded the
highly prestigious Bronze Star for exceptionally meritorious performance of duty
during Operation Iraqi Freedom for leading all of his troops out of an ambush
situation alive and for this courageous performance of duty, he was recommended
for officer; and
WHEREAS,
he is now attending college at Western Wyoming College on the GI Bill and will
graduate in December 2006 with a degree as a registered nurse; and
WHEREAS,
all Americans owe a debt of gratitude to our armed forces who risk their lives
in defending freedom and securing liberty for this nation and other peoples of
the world.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body honor and
commend Spec. First Class Lee Thomas Huddleston for his courageous and dedicated
service to our nation and wish him the very best in his future
endeavors.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Spec. First Class Lee
Thomas Huddleston.
