A RESOLUTION

Commending the Griffin-Spalding County School System for instituting "Local and State Government Leadership Day"; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the Griffin-Spalding County School System has established formal partnerships with over 150 businesses, civic organizations, and faith-based organizations through Partners in Education; and

WHEREAS, the school system has worked cooperatively with city, county, and state governmental leaders, including state legislators; and

WHEREAS, the school system desires to foster additional working relationships with local and state governments in the future; and

WHEREAS, the Partners in Education organization periodically sponsors tours of schools as a way to acquaint groups with the workings of the Griffin-Spalding County School System; and

WHEREAS, the Partners in Education and the Griffin-Spalding County School System are planning a tour of schools for government leadership to further the understanding and working relationship among the groups.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the Griffin-Spalding County School System is commended for its initiative in instituting "Local and State Government Leadership Day."

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the Griffin-Spalding County School System.
