RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and honoring Donnie Simmons for his many years of outstanding public service;
and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
as longtime member of the Bulloch County Board of Education, Mr. Donnie Simmons
has exhibited untiring dedication in his efforts to improving the quality of
education received by the children of Bulloch County; and
WHEREAS,
in his work with numerous committees in Bulloch County, Mr. Simmons has been
exemplary in his efforts to improve social diversity and promote the cultural,
physical, and spiritual welfare of his fellow citizens; and
WHEREAS,
overcoming great obstacles in order to serve the citizens and especially the
children of Bulloch County, Mr. Simmons epitomizes patience, courageous
selflessness, unrelenting devotion, and all the best qualities of public
service; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Simmons is a dedicated father who has raised three outstanding children,
Victor Simmons, Glen Pruitt, and Star Williams; and
WHEREAS,
on January 22, 2005, the Statesboro Bulloch County Friends of Donnie Simmons and
their supporters are gathering to honor Mr. Simmons, and it is most fitting and
proper for this body to recognize Mr. Simmons's contributions to his community
and to the State of Georgia on this important occasion.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body join in
recognizing and commending Mr. Donnie Simmons for his many years of esteemed
service to the community of Bulloch County and the State of
Georgia.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Donnie Simmons.
