A RESOLUTION

Recognizing the Cartersville/Bartow Chamber of Commerce and its Governmental Affairs Committee and volunteers on their first annual "Drive to the Capitol"; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the Cartersville/Bartow County Chamber of Commerce works with businesses, merchants, and industry to advance the civic, economic, industrial, professional, and cultural life of Bartow County; and

WHEREAS, the Governmental Affairs Committee of the Cartersville/Bartow County Chamber of Commerce and its volunteers are part of the fastest growing chamber in northwest Georgia, representing nearly 1,400 members; and

WHEREAS, the Governmental Affairs Committee serves as a voice of the business community in Bartow County and desires to build a strong relationship with its state legislators; and

WHEREAS, the Cartersville/Bartow County Chamber of Commercés legislative activities span the calendar year beginning with a visit to the state capitol, continuing with a trip to Washington, D.C., and ending with a legislative reception.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize the Cartersville/Bartow Chamber of Commerce and its Governmental Affairs Committee and volunteers on their first annual "Drive to the Capitol" and commend them on their continuing contributions to the businesses and community of Bartow County.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the Cartersville/Bartow County Chamber of Commerce and its Governmental Affairs Committee.
