RESOLUTION
Congratulating
Katie Conkle, Miss Georgia Teen USA 2005; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the beautiful, intelligent, and talented Katie Conkle was selected as Miss
Georgia Teen USA 2005 on November 6, 2004; and
WHEREAS,
this extraordinary student has been recognized with the President's Education
Award for Academic Achievement for six consecutive years; and
WHEREAS,
she has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of her time,
talents, and energy toward the betterment of her community and state as
evidenced dramatically by her superlative service as an advocate for drug
awareness and prevention, youth fitness, and cancer prevention; and
WHEREAS,
her significant organizational and leadership talents, her remarkable patience
and diplomacy, her keen sense of vision, and her sensitivity to the needs of the
citizens of her community have earned her the respect and admiration of her
colleagues and associates; and
WHEREAS,
she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for
integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and
WHEREAS,
by her many achievements, grace, and poise, Katie has brought credit to her
family and to her community and state; and all Georgians are proud of women who,
like Katie, represent the very best that this state has to offer.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body
congratulate Katie Conkle on becoming Miss Georgia Teen USA 2005; commend her
for her efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service; and
extend to her their most sincere best wishes for continued health and
happiness.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Katie Conkle.
