Senate Resolution 439

A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending Mr. Ron Martin for his outstanding service to Richmond County, Georgia; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, for the past seven years, Mr. Ron Martin has been an outstanding advocate for Richmond County; and

WHEREAS, he served for four years as chapter chairman and one year as vice chair for the CSR Chapter 182 American Society for Industrial Security International, and, under his excellent leadership, this organization provided state level recognition to over 40 law enforcement officers in Georgia and South Carolina and gave financial support to two local child abuse nonprofit organizations; and

WHEREAS, he served as president of the CSRA Law Enforcement Association and as a member of the City of Hephzibah Planning and Zoning Board; and

WHEREAS, he lent his expertise as an advisor to the Spirit Creek Educational Forest, a program that educates youth about the environment; and

WHEREAS, he was one of the founding board members of the Augusta Child Advocates, Inc., now known as Kids Restart, an agency which provides court appointed advocates for children in the Augusta area who are removed from homes as the result of abuse or neglect; and

WHEREAS, it is only fitting and proper that this body honor the many outstanding contributions Mr. Martin has made to his community and especially to the law enforcement officers and children of this state.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body join in recognizing Mr. Ron Martin and commend his many years of outstanding service to the citizens of Richmond County and the State of Georgia.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Ron Martin.
