RESOLUTION
Declaring
Saturday, March 26, 2005, Georgia State Air Show Day at the Heart of Georgia
Regional Airport in Eastman, Georgia; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the citizens of Georgia have been looking forward with great anticipation to the
2nd Annual Georgia State Air Show, which is being held at Heart of Georgia
Regional Airport in Eastman, Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
the festivities will include an Airport Fun Run, many interesting vendors and
displays, including static aircraft displays, and radio-control model airplane
and ultralight aircraft fly-ins; and
WHEREAS,
the air show will feature the amazing aerobatics of AirshowUnlimited.com as well
as performances by many of Georgia's own superb airmen; and
WHEREAS,
spectators both young and old could hardly resist the pride and excitement they
are sure to feel when a World War II vintage fighter aircraft joins the United
States Air Force F-16 East Coast Demonstration Team from Shaw Air Force Base to
perform several nostalgic fly-bys; and
WHEREAS,
this thrilling event is sure to provide many happy memories to participants and
spectators alike and will also provide valuable support to the Georgia Aviation
Technical College.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body declare
Saturday, March 26, 2005, Georgia State Air Show Day at the Heart of Georgia
Regional Airport in Eastman, Georgia, and extend their best wishes to the
sponsors, volunteers, performers, spectators, and all other participants for an
exciting, safe, and successful event.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the Georgia Aviation
Technical College Foundation, sponsor of the 2nd Annual Georgia State Air
Show.
