RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Reverend Clyde Hill, Sr.; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
on Sunday, February 20, 2005, Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Augusta, Georgia,
will observe the 32nd Pastoral Anniversary Celebration for Reverend Clyde Hill,
Sr., and his family; and
WHEREAS,
he is a native of Tallapoosa, Georgia, graduated as salutatorian at Haralson
County High School, received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Benedict College,
and received a Master of Divinity degree from Interdenominational Theological
Center of Morehouse College; and
WHEREAS,
he is a member of the NAACP, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, the Richmond County
Hospital Authority, the Baptist Minister´s Conference of Augusta, Capital
Campaign Leadership Team of Augusta Mini Theater, Inc., and the board of
Morehouse School of Religion; and
WHEREAS,
he has performed outstanding service at University Hospital, where he is a
member of the clergy staff, extended care board, health services board, and
health resources board; and
WHEREAS,
he believes in the advancement of his people through quality education and has
demonstrated this commitment by establishing the Wm. Hill Memorial Fund for
Educational Excellence in honor of his beloved father and clergyman and the
Augusta Adult Development Center, a nonprofit organization designed to train
underprivileged adults in technology and basic educational skills for gainful
employment; and
WHEREAS,
he is known and loved for the exemplary manner in which he ministers to the
spiritual needs of his congregation and for his devotion to his lovely wife
Louise, their children, Norman Vincent, Clyde, Jr., and Yolanda LaTrese, and
their five grandchildren, Kyle Dorian, Lorin Alexis, Morgan LaTrese, Meagan
Alexandria, and Macey Camille.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body recognize
and commend Reverend Clyde Hill, Sr., on his 32 years of devoted service as
pastor of Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Augusta, Georgia.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Reverend Clyde Hill, Sr.
