when their healthy seven-year-old son, Nader Parman II, tragically died after

commotio cordis, causing him to go into cardiac arrest, Sherri and Nader Parman,
Sr., channeled their grief into action as they began a public awareness campaign
to protect children; and
WHEREAS,
with the help of the Marcus Jewish Community Center, Children's Healthcare of
Atlanta, the American Heart Association, and over 100 volunteers, the Parmans
have dedicated countless hours to educating parents, coaches, teachers, and the

the importance of having Automated External Defibrillators (AED's) and people
trained in CPR at hand wherever children are at play; and
WHEREAS,
this extraordinary couple founded the Nader Parman II Memorial Fund to assist
schools and sports organizations in funding AED programs and CPR training and to
provide financial camp scholarships in their beloved son's memory;
and
WHEREAS,
on May 7, 2006, the fund will hold its fourth Nader Parman II Memorial Fun Run,
an annual event that raises financial support for the fund's important work;
and
WHEREAS,
amidst their own personal heartbreak, Mr. and Mrs. Parman have done so much to
protect the lives of children everywhere and are truly an inspiration to all who
seek to make this world a better place.
