RESOLUTION
Commending
T. Alan Armstrong, director of the Northgate High School Band; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
the Northgate High School Band has established and maintained a proud tradition
of musical excellence; and
WHEREAS,
under the expert and unwavering guidance of band director T. Alan Armstrong, the
band has joined a highly select and elite company of musicians as one of the
most skilled and successful high school bands in the country; and
WHEREAS,
the band has received honors and accolades too numerous to mention, including
over 60 class, divisional, or grand champion awards and has been asked to
perform at numerous prestigious events such as the WSB-TV Salute to American
Parade, the Egleston Children's Christmas Parade, the 2005 Hollywood Christmas
Parade, and the 2003 Festival of Trees; and
WHEREAS,
the State of Georgia takes great pride in the dedication and enthusiasm of this
stellar band director, and it is abundantly fitting and proper that he be
recognized appropriately on the occasion of his tenth anniversary as leader of
the band.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend T.
Alan Armstrong, the director of the Northgate High School Band, for his
outstanding achievements; congratulate him upon the occasion of his tenth
anniversary; and extend the most sincere best wishes for continued success in
the future.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to T. Alan Armstrong.
