WHEREAS, as members convened in January, 2006, to begin their vital work on behalf of the people of Georgia, they had access to many key new services from IT, including private and public wireless service throughout the capitol and Coverdell Legislative Office Building and an around-the-clock Help Desk ready to tackle any challenges that may come their way, services that have been of immense value to everyone; and

WHEREAS, thanks to their incredible efforts, the Georgia General Assembly's network reliably served members and staff with minimal interruptions, even when the rest of state government had recently lost its Internet connectivity; and

WHEREAS, guided by the exceptional leadership of IT Director Mr. Scott M.
