RESOLUTION
Commending
and recognizing Scientific Games International; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Scientific Games International was founded in 1974, is the world wide leader in
lottery and pari-mutuel technology and services and, in 2004, was listed as one
of the fastest growing technology companies in the United States employing over
1,000 people at two locations in Alpharetta, Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
Scientific Games International is the company known in Georgia for printing
lottery tickets and acting as co-creator of games for the Georgia Lottery;
and
WHEREAS,
in addition to providing quality business services and effective support for the
Georgia Lottery, this company has also established itself as a outstanding
corporate citizen and Good Samaritan; and
WHEREAS,
Scientific Games International contributes to more than 25 charitable
organizations that assist communities and citizens of this state including
nationally recognized organizations such as the American Heart Association, the
American Red Cross, the American Cancer Society, and the March of Dimes and
local charities such as the Forsyth County Child Advocacy Center, AID Atlanta,
and Noah's Bark Pet Rescue; and
WHEREAS,
consistent with the Georgia Lottery's support of education, a large portion of
Scientific Games International's charitable donations fund education focused
programs including donations to first-time elementary school teachers for
classroom supplies, incentives for middle school attendance, and funding for
vocational aptitude testing for high school students; and
WHEREAS,
Scientific Games International is a business active in the community it serves,
passionate about giving back to the community and being a good neighbor and
business partner; and
WHEREAS, the success of the State of Georgia, the strength of our communities, and the overall vitality of American society depend in great measure upon the dedication of businesses like Scientific Games International that uses its considerable talents and resources to serve the needs of the people; and

WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this
amazing company be appropriately recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body commend
Scientific Games International for its many achievements and contributions to
the welfare of this state.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Scientific Games
International.
