A RESOLUTION

Commending Mr. Chuanshui Zhong and Mr. Zhongnan Wang, First Secretaries of the Economic & Commercial Office at the Embassy of China, Washington, D.C.; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the State of Georgia is very fortunate to be receiving a visit from Mr. Chuanshui Zhong and Mr. Zhongnan Wang, First Secretaries of the Economic & Commercial Office at the Embassy of China in Washington, D.C.; and

WHEREAS, these two distinguished gentlemen will be speaking at the 2006 Georgia China Alliance spring dinner reception on March 9, 2006, where Mr. Zhong will discuss recent key economic policy developments in China and Mr. Wang will share his practical insights on doing business in China; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Zhong and Mr. Wang are experts on business relations between the United States and China, and both have extensive experience assisting American companies in China and on advising companies in the development of their China strategy; and

WHEREAS, China has emerged as one of the greatest economic powers on the globe, and a strong relationship between Georgian and Chinese businesses is integral to our state's continued economic progress; and

WHEREAS, throughout their careers, Mr. Zhong and Mr. Wang have been devoted to strengthening the friendship between the United States and China, and for their outstanding work, it is abundantly fitting and proper that they be appropriately recognized by this body.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body join in commending Mr. Chuanshui Zhong and Mr. Zhongnan Wang on their invaluable efforts to build lasting economic bridges between the United States and China and in welcoming them both to Georgia.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Chuanshui Zhong and Mr. Zhongnan Wang.
