RESOLUTION
Recognizing
Southern Bank & Trust on its opening; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Southern Bank & Trust has been established to engage in the commercial
banking business in the town of Clarkesville, Georgia, with an emphasis on
personalized banking services to small-to-medium businesses, professionals,
contractors, and consumers; and
WHEREAS,
the
banḱs
market area encompasses Habersham County and represents a diverse market with a
growing population and economy; and
WHEREAS,
it is a community bank with a goal to provide superior personalized customer
service and state-of-the-art technology; and
WHEREAS,
the bank will be under the guidance of Robert A. Parker as president and chief
executive officer of the bank; and
WHEREAS,
the organizers of the bank, who will also serve as directors, are Kenneth E.
Coggins, J. Terry Greene, Michael B. Hill, Matthew E. Mixon, Michael E. Mixon,
Robert A. Parker, Daniel E. Reeves, Sidney L. Roland III, Hugh O. Scoggins, E.
Swain Stewart, James C. Weidner, and Ernest H. Woods III.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body join in
recognizing Southern Bank & Trust on its opening and extend their best
wishes to its directors, officers, and employees for the future success of the
bank.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Robert A. Parker,
President, Southern Bank & Trust.
