RESOLUTION
Congratulating
Mr. and Mrs. Ruben King on the occasion of their 55th wedding anniversary; and
for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
on December 30, 2005, Novella and Ruben King celebrated their 55th wedding
anniversary; and
WHEREAS,
for five and a half decades, these two lovebirds have supported one another
through all of life's trials and tribulations and have been by one another's
side as they celebrated life's many joys and triumphs; and
WHEREAS,
since 1959, Mr. King has been in business for himself and went into the mortuary
industry in the 1960s after realizing the need for a funeral parlor to serve the
black residents of his community; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. and Mrs. King today own five funeral homes, earning their immense success
through years of hard work and dedication; and
WHEREAS,
they have been blessed with a large and close-knit family to which they have
proudly passed on their strong values and convictions; and
WHEREAS,
this very remarkable couple's 55 years of love and devotion to one another are
an inspiration to newlyweds everywhere and a true testament of the power of the
bond of holy matrimony.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body join
together in congratulating Mr. and Mrs. Ruben King on their celebration of 55
wonderful years of marriage and extend sincere wishes for many more happy years
together.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. and Mrs. Ruben King.
