RESOLUTION
Commending
Ms. Pam Walker; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Alexander High School teacher Pam Walker has been named as one of the finalists
for the 2007 Georgia Teacher of the Year Award; and
WHEREAS,
Ms. Walker is one of only 11 teachers out of a group of 169 candidates to be
selected for this honor; and
WHEREAS,
since 1981, Ms. Walker has been touching lives as a science instructor,
including 15 years at Alexander High School in Douglas County; and
WHEREAS,
Ms. Walker is greatly respected within her community and beyond for her vast
knowledge and tremendous teaching talent and has authored 20 textbooks and
teacher resource books; and
WHEREAS,
students, parents, and colleagues admire her for her passion for teaching,
remarkable classroom control, and captivating teaching style; and her
outstanding work has earned her numerous accolades, including the Douglas County
Teacher of the Year Award in October, 2005; and
WHEREAS,
considering the fundamental role public education has in shaping the future of
this state, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this body appropriately
recognize the invaluable contributions of this distinguished
professional.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body join in
commending Ms. Pam Walker on being selected as a finalist for the Georgia
Teacher of the Year Award and thank her for her enormously important
contributions to education in Georgia.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed
to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Ms. Pam Walker.
