BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend an Act creating the State Court of Clayton County, approved January 28,
1964 (Ga. L. 1964, p. 2032), as amended, particularly by an Act approved March
25, 1994 (Ga. L. 1994, p. 4138), and an Act approved April 16, 1999 (Ga. L.
1999, p. 4665), so as to provide for the salaries of the judges of the state
court; to provide for the salary of the solicitor-general of the state court; to
provide for a county supplement; to provide conditions for an effective date; to
repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
An
Act creating the State Court of Clayton County, approved January 28, 1964 (Ga.
L. 1964, p. 2032), as amended, particularly by an Act approved March 25, 1994
(Ga. L. 1994, p. 4138), and an Act approved April 16, 1999 (Ga. L. 1999, p.
4665), is amended by striking Section 3 and inserting in lieu thereof the
following:
"SECTION
3.
Judgeś salaries.
Judgeś salaries.
Each
judge of the State Court of Clayton County shall receive a salary in the amount
of $134,018.00, plus 1 1/2 percent of such base salary and any supplement
received pursuant to state law or county ordinance multiplied by the number of
complete years of service as judge served by such person since January 1, 2006.
Such longevity increase shall be calculated and payable in equal monthly
installments by the board of commissioners out of the general funds of Clayton
County. The governing authority of Clayton County shall be authorized to
supplement such
salary."
SECTION
2.
Said
Act is further amended by striking in its entirety Section 6 and inserting in
lieu thereof the following:
"SECTION
6.
Salary of the solicitor-general.
Salary of the solicitor-general.
The
solicitor-general of the State Court of Clayton County shall receive a salary in
the amount of $94,444.00, plus 1 1/2 percent of such base salary and any
supplement received pursuant to state law or county ordinance multiplied by the
number of complete years of service as solicitor-general served by such person
since January 1, 2005. Such longevity increase shall be calculated and payable
in equal monthly installments by the board of commissioners out of the general
funds of Clayton
County."
SECTION
3.
This
Act shall become effective on July 1, 2006.
SECTION
4.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
