BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend an Act providing for a supplement to the salaries of the judges of the
superior court of the Clayton Judicial Circuit, approved April 10, 1969 (Ga. L.
1969, p. 353), as amended, particularly by an Act approved April 16, 1999 (Ga.
L. 1999, p. 4670), so as to increase the county supplement to the state salary
of said judges; to provide for an effective date; to repeal conflicting laws;
and for other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
An
Act providing for a supplement to the salaries of the judges of the superior
court of the Clayton Judicial Circuit, approved April 10, 1969 (Ga. L. 1969, p.
353), as amended, particularly by an Act approved April 16, 1999 (Ga. L. 1999,
p. 4670), is amended by striking Section 1 of said Act and inserting in lieu
thereof the following:
"SECTION
1.
In
addition to the salary payable from state funds, each judge of the superior
court of the Clayton Judicial Circuit shall receive a supplement of $37,000.00
per annum, payable in equal monthly installments out of the funds of Clayton
County. The governing authority of Clayton County is authorized and directed to
pay to each such judge the compensation provided for in this
section."
SECTION
2.
This
Act shall become effective on July 1, 2006.
SECTION
3.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
