Thompson of the 33rd and Reed of the 35th offered the following
amendment:
Amend
the committee substitute to SB 588 by adding a new Section 2. and renumbering
the remaining Sections accordingly to read as follows:
It
shall be unlawful for any person in the state legally or illegally to use a
false, altered, stolen or illegally manufactured Social Security card for
purposes of gaining employment or registration of an automobile. In addition to
federal law a person committing the above offense who is in this state illegally
shall be guilty of a felony punishable by not less than 10 years in prison and a
$10,000 fine.
