A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT

To amend Article 2 of Chapter 6 of Title 5 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to appellate practice, so as to provide that neither the filing of a notice of appeal nor the filing of an appeal of a temporary protective order under Article 1 of Chapter 13 of Title 19 shall act as a stay or supersedeas of such order; to provide for related matters; to provide an effective date; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:

SECTION 1.
Article 2 of Chapter 6 of Title 5 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to appellate practice, is amended by adding a new Code Section 5-6-46.1 to read as follows:
"5-6-46.1.
Neither the filing of a notice of appeal nor the filing of an appeal of a temporary protective order issued under Article 1 of Chapter 13 of Title 19 shall act as a stay or supersedeas of such order, and such order shall remain in effect during such appeal."

SECTION 2.
This Act shall become effective upon its approval by the Governor or upon its becoming law without such approval.

SECTION 3.
All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
