AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend an Act consolidating the offices of tax receiver and tax collector of
Clayton County into the office of tax commissioner, approved August 18, 1925
(Ga. L. 1925, p. 600), as amended, particularly by an Act approved April 13,
2001 (Ga. L. 2001, p. 4338), so as to change the provisions relating to the
salary of the tax commissioner; to provide for an effective date; to repeal
conflicting laws; and for other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
An
Act consolidating the offices of tax receiver and tax collector of Clayton
County into the office of tax commissioner, approved August 18, 1925 (Ga. L.
1925, p. 600), as amended, particularly by an Act approved April 13, 2001 (Ga.
L. 2001, p. 4338), is amended by striking paragraph (1) of subsection (b) of
Section 7 in its entirety and substituting in lieu thereof a new paragraph (1)
to read as follows:
"(1)
The tax commissioner of Clayton County shall receive an annual salary of
$85,975.00, which amount shall include any supplements and additional
compensation for any additional services or duties which are paid pursuant to
any state law or county ordinance, which are being received on March 15, 2005,
and which are paid from the funds of Clayton County. This shall not prohibit
the governing authority of Clayton County from increasing the amount of any
supplement or compensation for additional duties which the governing authority
may lawfully pay to the tax commissioner on or after July 1,
2005."
SECTION
2.
This
Act shall become effective on July 1, 2005.
SECTION
3.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
