A RESOLUTION

Commending Charles Tyler Crump on becoming an Eagle Scout; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Charles Tyler Crump, of Boy Scout Troop 555 in Gwinnett County, has earned the rank of Eagle Scout after passing his Eagle Board of Review on February 18, 2006; and

WHEREAS, to reach Eagle rank, a Scout must earn 21 merit badges, 12 of which are mandatory requirements for the Eagle Scout program; and

WHEREAS, for his Eagle Scout service project, Charles Tyler Crump tirelessly worked to remove aged stands in the ball field area behind John Wesley United Methodist Church and to install new ones, coordinating fellow scouts and additional volunteers for over 235 service hours; and

WHEREAS, only one scout out of 97 ever reaches this lofty level of achievement, and Charles Tyler Crump has ably demonstrated his aptitude and competency in mastering the many special skills taught through the Boy Scout program; and

WHEREAS, Charles Tyler Crump has truly exhibited a commitment to the scouting principles of honesty and fairness and has consistently conducted himself in a manner becoming of an Eagle Scout; and

WHEREAS, in a world which all too often seems to dwell on the negative aspects of the actions of young people, it is especially fitting and proper for this body to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of this extraordinary young man.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Charles Tyler Crump for his diligence and dedication in pursuing the highest honor awarded by the Boy Scouts of America and congratulate him on attaining the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Charles Tyler Crump.
