A RESOLUTION

Commending the contributions of members of the clergy in Georgia and recognizing the fourth annual Clergy Day at the Georgia State Capitol; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Georgia is most fortunate to have a very diverse community of religious faiths represented in its local communities throughout this great state; and

WHEREAS, the spiritual leaders of these various faiths provide tremendous comfort, hope, and joy to individuals and families as they proceed through life; and

WHEREAS, through their teachings the clergy have inspired spiritual understanding and peace to persons from all walks of life and for generations reached out to nurture persons in need of refuge and support along lifés journey; and

WHEREAS, great religious leaders have ministered to Georgiás communities, actively promoting improved community relations among its people and personally demonstrating their steadfast commitment to social justice for all Georgians; and

WHEREAS, Georgia is most fortunate to have a concerned clergy with a proud tradition of political advocacy for much needed social reforms and their leadership merits great praise.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Georgiás clergy for their community leadership and recognize the fourth annual Clergy Day at the Georgia State Capitol to welcome these devout leaders.
