A RESOLUTION

Commending Lee Hagan on becoming an Eagle Scout; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Lee Hagan has earned the rank of Eagle Scout after completing the rigorous requirements of this honor, including building an arched footbridge on Cherokee Trail behind Children's Playground at Stone Mountain Park for his Eagle Scout project; and

WHEREAS, Lee Hagan will receive this highest achievement among Boy Scouts of America in an Eagle Scout Court of Honor on March 9, 2006; and

WHEREAS, the attainment of Eagle Scout rank indicates that a Scout has developed leadership ability, self-confidence, mature judgment, and mental and physical capabilities that will be of immense benefit throughout life; and

WHEREAS, Lee Hagan has amply demonstrated to his Scout leaders and peers that he possesses these qualities along with sterling character; and

WHEREAS, for a Scout to reach Eagle rank, he must earn 21 merit badges, 12 of which are mandatory requirements for the Eagle Scout program; and

WHEREAS, in achieving Eagle Scout status, Lee Hagan has brought honor not only to himself but also to his family and troop.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend Lee Hagan for his hard work and perseverance and congratulate him on attaining the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Lee Hagan.
