RESOLUTION
Recognizing
the 23rd Annual GAE Legislative Conference Day; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
the Georgia Association of Educators (GAE) is the oldest organization in
Georgia, representing school employees in every public school district in
Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
the GAE exists to protect, support, and strengthen our public schools and those
who dedicate themselves to
Georgiás
students; and
WHEREAS,
the GAE represents teachers, administrators, education support personnel,
retired educators, and college students and faculty; and
WHEREAS,
the GAE supports efforts to protect the health and safety of all children and
public school employees; and
WHEREAS,
the GAE works diligently to empower educators to make a difference in the lives
of children; and
WHEREAS,
the GAE works untiringly to improve
Georgiás
public schools; and
WHEREAS,
the GAE continues to support efforts to attract and retain well qualified,
prepared educators to teach every child in
Georgiás
public schools; and
WHEREAS,
the GAE supports efforts to prepare children for the jobs of tomorrow;
and
WHEREAS,
the GAE advocates to protect and expand the rights and benefits of all school
employees; and
WHEREAS,
the GAE conducts a legislative conference providing an opportunity for GAE
members from every school district to discuss legislative priorities with
members of the Georgia General Assembly.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body recognize February 20, 2006, as the 23rd Annual GAE Legislative
Conference Day and convey all the accolades and appreciation possible to
acknowledge the dedicated hard work of every public school employee in
Georgia.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the Georgia
Association of Educators.
