RESOLUTION
Commending
Elco Alford; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Elco Alford was born on January 30, 1922, and this year he will enjoy the rare
distinction of celebrating his eighty-fourth birthday; and
WHEREAS,
this distinguished senior gentleman has given inspiration to many through his
high ideals, morals, and deep concern for his fellow man and he possesses the
vast wisdom which only comes through experience and the strength of character
which is achieved through overcoming the many challenges of life;
and
WHEREAS,
remains an active participant in the business, civic, and religious affairs of
his community through his continued involvement in farm operations, the Cook
County Farm Service Agency Committee and his membership as a Shriner, Mason, and
with the County Line AME Church; and
WHEREAS,
he is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for
integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and
WHEREAS,
by the example he has made of his life, he makes this world a better place in
which to live, and it is only fitting and proper that he be appropriately
recognized during this very special and memorable time of his life.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that this body
heartily commends Elco Alford for his efficient, effective, unselfish,
dedicated, and loving service to the members of his family and the citizens of
his community and state; congratulates him on the remarkable occasion of his
eighty-fourth birthday; and extends to him its most sincere best wishes for
continued health and happiness.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Elco Alford.
