BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend an Act creating the Banks County Family Connection Commission, approved
April 13, 2001 (Ga. L. 2001, p. 4134), so as to change the membership of the
commission; to change certain provisions requiring an oath of office; to repeal
conflicting laws; and for other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
An
Act creating the Banks County Family Connection Commission, approved April 13,
2001 (Ga. L. 2001, p. 4134), is amended by striking Section 1 and inserting in
its place a new Section 1 to read as follows:
"SECTION
1.
(a)
There is created the Banks County Family Connection Commission. The commission
shall be composed of eight members, as follows: the chairperson of the board of
commissioners of Banks County; the superintendent of the Banks County school
district; the director of Banks County Head Start; the chief health officer of
Banks County Mental Health; the director of Department of Family and Children
Services; the juvenile court judge of the Piedmont Judicial Circuit; the
director of Banks County Adult Education; and the director of Banks County
Public Health.
(b)
Each community member in office shall remain a member of the commission until
the regular expiration of the term to which such person was appointed. No
successor to any such member shall be appointed. In the event a vacancy occurs
prior to regular expiration of such term of office, no person shall be appointed
to fill such vacancy.
(c)
Members serving on the commission under subsection (a) of this section shall
serve for the terms of the positions they hold and shall be replaced on the
commission by their successors in these positions.
(d)
Members of the commission shall receive no compensation for serving on the
commission but may be reimbursed for actual and necessary expenses incurred by
them in carrying out their official
duties."
SECTION
2.
Said
Act is further amended by striking Section 4 and inserting in its place a new
Section 4 to read as follows:
"SECTION
4.
Reserved."
SECTION
3.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
