BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend an Act providing for the election of the members of the board of education
of Habersham County, approved March 5, 1976 (Ga. L. 1976, p. 2708), as amended,
so as to provide for the compensation of the members of such board; to provide
for the automatic repeal of this Act; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other
purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
An
Act providing for the election of the members of the board of education of
Habersham County, approved March 5, 1976 (Ga. L. 1976, p. 2708), as amended, is
amended by adding a new section immediately following Section 1, to be
designated Section 1A, to read as follows:
"SECTION
1A.
The
board of education shall receive the per diem and expense reimbursement provided
for under Code Section 20-2-55, as amended. The board of education is
authorized to increase the amount of such per diem and expense reimbursement.
The board of education shall take no action to increase such amounts until
notice of intent to take such action and the fiscal impact of such action has
been published in a newspaper designated as the legal organ for the county at
least once a week for three consecutive weeks immediately preceding the meeting
at which the action is
taken."
SECTION
2.
This
Act shall stand repealed in its entirety on December 31, 2006.
SECTION
3.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
