BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend an Act establishing the compensation of certain officials in Richmond
County, approved April 12, 1982 (Ga. L. 1982, p. 3941), as amended, particularly
by an Act approved February 4, 2002 (Ga. L. 2002, p. 3505), so as to provide for
the compensation of certain officials in Richmond County; to provide for
conforming amendments; to provide an effective date; to repeal conflicting laws;
and for other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
An
Act establishing the compensation of certain officials in Richmond County,
approved April 12, 1982 (Ga. L. 1982, p. 3941), as amended, particularly by an
Act approved February 4, 2002 (Ga. L. 2002, p. 3505), is amended by striking
Section 1 and inserting in lieu thereof the following:
"SECTION
1.
(a)
For the calendar year beginning January 1, 2006, the following officials of
Richmond County, Georgia, shall receive an annual salary, payable from the funds
of Richmond County, Georgia, as follows:

The compensation provided for in subsections (a) and (b) of this section shall
be paid in equal monthly
installments.∀
SECTION
2.
An
Act providing for the consolidation of Richmond County and the City of Augusta,
approved March 27, 1995 (Ga. L. 1995, p. 3648), as amended, is amended by
striking subsection (e) of Section 2 in its entirety.
SECTION
3.
An
Act creating the Civil Court of Richmond County, approved August 28, 1931 (Ga.
L. 1931, p. 270), as amended, particularly but not exclusively by an Act
approved March 31, 1971 (Ga. L. 1971, p. 2745), by an Act approved March 21,
1974 (Ga. L. 1974, p. 2410), by an Act approved March 13, 1978 (Ga. L. 1978, p.
3341), and by an Act approved February 10, 1999 (Ga. L. 1999, p. 3508), is
amended by striking Section 9C in its entirety.
SECTION
4.
This
Act shall become effective on January 1, 2006.
SECTION
5.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
