A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT

To amend an Act providing for the election of members of the board of education of Seminole County, approved March 14, 1983 (Ga. L. 1983, p. 3994), as amended, so as to change certain provisions relating to compensation of members of the board; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:

SECTION 1.
An Act providing for the election of members of the board of education of Seminole County, approved March 14, 1983 (Ga. L. 1983, p. 3994), as amended, is amended by striking Section 4 and inserting in lieu thereof the following:

"SECTION 4.
At the first meeting of the board, which shall be conducted in January of each year, the board shall elect one of its members as chairperson and such other officers as it shall determine. Three members of the board shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of any business which may come before the board. Each member of the board of education of Seminole County shall receive $150.00 per month, plus $100.00 per day of attendance at any meetings of the board other than regular meetings or while traveling inside or outside the state on official board business as authorized by a majority of the board, plus the necessary expenses incurred in carrying out his or her official duties."

SECTION 2.
All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
