BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend Code Section 47-6-60 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating
to employee contributions in the Georgia Legislative Retirement System, payment
of employee contributions on behalf of the member, and additional contributions,
so as to provide that for purposes of calculating the
membeŕs
contribution, the
membeŕs
salary shall be the combination of his or her monthly salary and any per diem
payments he or she receives; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other
purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
Code
Section 47-6-60 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to employee
contributions in the Georgia Legislative Retirement System, payment of employee
contributions on behalf of the member, and additional contributions, is amended
by striking in its entirety subsection (a) and inserting in lieu thereof the
following:
"(a)
Each member shall contribute 7 1/2 percent of his
or
her monthly salary. Such contributions
shall be made through payroll deductions by the legislative fiscal officer.
For purposes
of calculating the
membeŕs
contribution, the
membeŕs
monthly salary shall be the combination of his or her monthly salary combined
with any per diem payments he or she
receives."
SECTION
2.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
