BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend Chapter 1A of Title 20 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating
to early care and learning, so as to exempt certain nonprofit youth development
organizations from licensing requirements for day-care centers, family day-care
homes, or group day-care homes; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other
purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
Chapter
1A of Title 20 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to early care
and learning, is amended by inserting a new Code section to be designated Code
Section 20-1A-18 to read as follows:
"20-1A-18.
Notwithstanding
any other provision of this chapter, the provisions of this article shall not
apply to any Georgia youth development organization that:
(1)
Is nonprofit;
(2)
Is chartered or governed by a national parent organization;
(3)
Is required to meet annual reviews of its programs by its national parent
organization in order to maintain its charter or connection with the national
parent organization;
(4)
Has as its primary goal or mission the service of disadvantaged children of
school age; and
(5)
Charges nominal fees or
dues."
SECTION
2.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
