BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend an Act creating the State Court of Cobb County, approved March 26, 1964
(Ga. L. 1964, p. 3211), as amended, so as to change the compensation of the
judges and associate judges of the state court; to provide an effective date; to
repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
An
Act creating the State Court of Cobb County, approved March 26, 1964 (Ga. L.
1964, p. 3211), as amended, is amended by striking from Section 23 of Part 1 the
following:
"The
salary of the judges of Division 1 of the State Court of Cobb County shall be
$134,164.87 per
annum.",
and
inserting in lieu thereof the following:
"The
salary of the judges of Division 1 of the State Court of Cobb County shall be
$139,531.46 per
annum."
SECTION
2.
Said
Act is further amended by striking in its entirety subsection (a) of Section 2-3
of Part 2 and inserting in lieu thereof a new subsection (a) to read as
follows:
"(a)
The salary of each associate judge shall be $23,400.00 per annum below the
salary of the judges of Division 1 of the State Court of Cobb County to be paid
in equal monthly installments from the funds of Cobb County. The associate
judges are designated as full-time judges and may not engage in the private
practice of
law."
SECTION
3.
This
Act shall become effective upon its approval by the Governor or upon its
becoming law without such approval.
SECTION
4.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
