BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend Chapter 38 of Title 43 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating
to operators of private detective businesses and private security businesses, so
as to authorize the Georgia Board of Private Detective and Security Agencies to
establish requirements of continuing education as a condition of license
renewal; to provide for conditions, limitations, and waiver; to repeal
conflicting laws; and for other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
Chapter
38 of Title 43 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to operators
of private detective businesses and private security businesses, is amended by
striking the reserved designation of Code Section 43-38-5 and inserting in its
place a new Code Section 43-38-5 to read as follows:
"43-38-5.
The
board is authorized to establish requirements of continuing education as a
condition for the renewal of licensure under this chapter. The board shall be
authorized to waive continuing education requirements in cases of hardship,
disability, illness, or under such other circumstances as the board deems
appropriate."
SECTION
2.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
