BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend Article 1 of Chapter 10 of Title 16 of the Official Code of Georgia
Annotated, relating to abuse of governmental office, so as to provide that it
shall be unlawful for any official, officer, or employee of this state or of any
department, agency, board, bureau, commission, or authority of this state or of
any county, municipality, or authority thereof to employ or to use any public
funds to pay any person who is in the United States in violation of the laws of
the United States; to provide for a penalty; to repeal conflicting laws; and for
other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
Article
1 of Chapter 10 of Title 16 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating
to abuse of governmental office, is amended by adding at the end thereof a new
Code Section 16-10-10 to read as follows:
"16-10-10.
It
shall be unlawful for any official, officer, or employee of this state or of any
department, agency, board, bureau, commission, or authority of this state or of
any county, municipality, or authority thereof to employ or to use any public
funds to pay any person who is in the United States in violation of the laws of
the United States. Any person violating this Code section shall be guilty of a
misdemeanor."
SECTION
2.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
