A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT

To amend an Act to continue and re-create the State Court of Gwinnett County, approved March 23, 1977 (Ga. L. 1977, p. 3331), as amended, so as to change the terms of court; to provide for related matters; to provide an effective date; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:

SECTION 1.
An Act to continue and re-create the State Court of Gwinnett County, approved March 23, 1977 (Ga. L. 1977, p. 3331), as amended, is amended by striking Section 5 and inserting in its place a new Section 5 to read as follows:

"SECTION 5.
The State Court of Gwinnett County shall have terms which shall be held on the first Monday in March, June, and December and the second Monday in September in Lawrenceville in said county and such terms shall remain open for the transaction of business until the next succeeding term. Said court shall at all times be open for the purpose of receiving pleas of guilty in criminal cases and passing sentence thereon and for the transaction of civil business before the court."

SECTION 2.
This Act shall become effective August 1, 2006.

SECTION 3.
All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
