BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend an Act creating a new charter for the City of Kennesaw, approved April 10,
1971 (Ga. L. 1971, p. 3620), as amended, so as to change the provision relating
to the term or duration of franchise agreements; to repeal conflicting laws; and
for other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
An
Act creating a new charter for the City of Kennesaw, approved April 10, 1971
(Ga. L. 1971, p. 3620), as amended, is amended by striking subsection (g) of
Section 1.03 and inserting in lieu thereof a new subsection (g) to read as
follows:
"(g)
To grant franchises or make contracts for public utilities and public services,
including but not limited to those stated above, not to exceed 30 years. The
mayor and council may prescribe the rates, fares, regulations, and standards and
conditions of service applicable to the service to be provided by the franchise
grantee or contractor, insofar as not in conflict with the laws of the State of
Georgia."
SECTION
2.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
